Kelly Forrester holds a masters degree in mental health counseling from Walden University. She is licensed by the state of Michigan as a professional counselor and maintains a private counseling. Kelly also has worked as a counselor in a wide spectrum of settings including inpatient psychiatric stabilization, partial hospitalization programs, addiction treatment, and community-based mental health agencies. Kelly earned her bachelors degree from Evergreen State College, where her interdisciplinary programs of study focused on Irish culture and psychology. In 1993 she earned her certification and license as a massage practitioner in the state of Washington and maintained a consistent massage therapy practice for over twenty-five years. From an integrative perspective, Kelly draws upon an eclectic blend of traditional and holistic approaches to educate and encourage a body-mind-spirit model of wellness. Kelly's areas of interest and training include Brainspotting, meditation, Interpersonal Neurobiology.
Counseling Philosophy
Kelly practice's a person-centered, relationship-based, and collaborative approach to counseling. I believe counseling is a catalyst to create change in our lives. I draw from both traditional psychotherapeutic and body-mind evidenced-based techniques. I provide feedback, resources, support, and tools. I help facilitate a process to compassionately explore edges and develop a life rooted in authenticity and self-understanding. I believe we create our universe and at heart we perpetually seek a sense of wholeness and belonging. I believe there is always hope.

I hold a Bachelors degree from The Evergreen State College where I majored in psychology and ethnic studies. I graduated with an Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2010. I maintain a license as a Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan.
